DAY 1: HOTEL – BROEK IN WATERLAND – MARKEN – VOLENDAM
At 08.30 you will be picked up at the hotel (in Amsterdam). We will go directly from the hotel to
Broek in Waterland. A small typical Dutch village, where you will take a walk and discover more about the Dutch landscape.
Marken. From Broek in Waterland we will continue to Marken. Here you can take a walk to enjoy the surroundings of the village. Marken used to be an island that was later connected to the mainland by a dike.
Volendam. After visiting Marken we will continue to Volendam. Volendam is a real fishing village and most of the people are fishermen or family of fishermen as well. In Volendam we will have lunch. In the restaurant you can eat the fish that they have caught there.

DAY 2: VOLENDAM – SCHERMERHORN – ALKMAAR CITY TOUR
At 09:00: We check out of the hotel. And after breakfast the tour will start from
Volendam to Schermerhorn. Arriving at Schermerhorn you will visit the Windmill Museum. Here you will enjoy the natural beauty of the village and see how the Dutch used to live in mill houses. Then we go from
Schermerhorn to Alkmaar. Arriving in Alkmaar, you can enjoy the city centre. Alkmaar is known as the “cheese town”. Besides of the Edam cheese which comes from the old centre of Alkmaar, there are many canals and historic buildings which are also worth a visit. In combination with visiting the city, you can enjoy the city of Alkmaar on a tour boat (optional).

DAY 3: ALKMAAR CHEESE MARKET – BROEK OP LANGEDIJK – HOORN – ENKHUIZEN
Today begins in Alkmaar. Every Friday, from early April to September, there is a traditional cheese market in Alkmaar from 10:00 to 12:30. This is the one we are going to visit. Local cheese products are exported abroad. Then you will continue your journey from
Alkmaar to Broek op Langedijk. We must leave on time, because at 12.00 hours you will attend the vegetable auction at the BroekerVeiling Museum. After this, you will take a boat trip, and you can enjoy the natural beauty of North Holland and see how the farmers in the Netherlands live and work. Then you will continue from
Broek op Langedijk to Hoorn. Arriving in Hoorn you will visit the Westfries Museum to learn more about the history of the VOC. Hoorn was once a port city, one of the most important trading bases of the VOC (Dutch East-India Company). Hoorn has a long history for the Netherlands and Indonesia. When you get there you will be able to explore the city centre.
Stay overnight in Enkhuizen (B/D)
DAY 4: ENKHUIZEN CITY TOUR – AFSLUITDIJK – GRONINGEN CITY TOUR
At 08:30: we check out of the hotel. We are leaving for Enkhuizen. Here you have more than 1 hour free time. Spend some time walking around the town of Enkhuizen. The luggage is already loaded into the bus and then it’s time to leave Enkhuizen and drive on from;
Enkhuizen to the Afsluitdijk. The Afsluitdijk is the main connecting road or dike between North Holland and the province of Friesland. This highway lies above the Ijsselmeer where the dam acts as a seawall to protect the land from the water so that the Netherlands does not flood. We drive further from the
Afsluitdijk to Groningen. Arriving in Groningen we take a walk. This city is not only known as a student city because of the University Museum, but also has the nickname “World Cycling City”.

DAY 5: GRONINGEN – GIETHOORN – ZWOLLE CITY TOUR – ELBURG
From 09:00 until 10:00 you still have time to walk around in Groningen. 10.00 o’clock we leave from
Groningen to Giethoorn. In Giethoorn you will make a boat trip through the village. Giethoorn is also known as the city for honeymooners and “Little Venice”. After lunch we depart from
Giethoorn to Zwolle. In Zwolle there is free time to walk through the city and enjoy the surrounding city scenery. The city of Zwolle is also a student city. This city has one proud, namely the Museum de Fundatie. For those who love art exhibitions, you can visit this museum (optional). After this we depart from
Zwolle to Elburg. In Elburg you will make a walk and enjoy the city that used to be called a fishing village, just like in Volendam. This city still has the atmosphere of a “fishing village”, this can be seen by the smokehouse in the middle of the city.

DAY 6: ELBURG CITY TOUR – AMSTERDAM CITY TOUR
At 10:00 check out hotel. We then first enjoy a walk in Elburg. After this we depart from
Elburg to Amsterdam. Upon arrival in Amsterdam you will have a free program, city visit around the Damrak, the National Monument and the surrounding area. We have a lunch in Amsterdam.

DAY 7: HOTEL – AMSTERDAM SCHIPHOL AIRPORT
From the hotel you will be taken to the airport, as per the arranged schedule.

- If the itinerary is not on the IndoHolland Tours website, the customised itinerary can be discussed by the participant.

PAYMENT
- Down payment (deposit) 50%, paid within 14 days, calculated from the invoice date.
- The payment of 50% should be made no later than 3 months before the trip.
- The complete schedule is given 7 days before the trip.
- The group departs when the minimum number of participants has been reached.
- In case of force majeure (ordinary coincidental circumstances that cannot be avoided) such as: loss, damage, disruption, delays in transport facilities / natural disasters, etc., Which may affect travel events, are subject to change and a non-refundable return is possible). GENERAL INFORMATION
Museum in the Netherlands
Visiting museums is sometimes included in the itinerary. Please inform us of your arrival period. As the museum is NOT open all year round, the opening time of the museum depends on the season.
Traditional market in the Netherlands
The traditional cheese market in the Netherlands is similar almost to a museum. The market is not open all the time. The market is open during certain periods, it may be seasonal, and depending on the weather or the climatic conditions. If the traditional market is not open, the itinerary will be changed to an alternative.
Festivals and Markets
If you really want to see the traditional markets and street theatre festivals then it’s best to come in the summer, and that’s from May to August.
