Thessaloniki, the jewel of the north, is the second largest city of Greece. Together we are going to visit some of the main attractions of this city like the White Tower and the Arch of Galerius, both UNESCO World Heritage Sites! Overnight in Thessaloniki.
Dinner will take place in a Greek Tavern with live Bouzouki and Traditional Music!
After your breakfast, we will depart to visit Vergina, the inter- nationally known burial site of the Kings of Macedon, a UNES- CO World Heritage Site, which includes the royal burial cluster of the father of Alexander the Great, Phillip II. Then, we will stay over-night in Tzoumerka to see the breathtaking views of Greece’s natural beauty by exploring local villages and old traditions.
We will visit the oldest Hellenic oracle at Dodoni, where the largest and best preserved Ancient Greek Theatre is located, a UNESCO World Heritage Site once again! Then we will visit Ioannina city and its hidden treasures. Ioannina, found by the Byzantine Emperor Justinian, is full of Paleolithic and archaeological exhibits. The combination of historical monuments and museums with the incredible beauty of the landscape is a guarantee for the visitor. The well-known lake and boat cruise on its small island is a treat not to be missed!
Discover the Kipina Monastery, built between the 13th and 14th century in a middle of a rock on a vertical cliff. Sightseeing in the Tzoumerka Mountains, where nature meets tradition! Walk through the stone-made villages of Kalarrytes, home to internationally known goldsmiths and silversmiths such as the famous Mr. Bulgari who established the house of “BVLGARI” and Syrrako, the birthplace of the first Priminister in Greece. We will also visit the Cave of Anemotrypa where one will find impressive stalagmites and stalactites, waterfalls as well as an underground river and stunning colours which create a magical place-worth the visit!
After your breakfast, depending on your departure time, discover Elliniko village the house of “Tsouka Monastery” and enjoy the magnicent views of the rivers. Otherwise, drive to Thessaloniki Airport directly.
